Yoga Narratives

at Tanzterrain Studio
with Maria

These classes focus on exploring our relationship with our body, and the "narratives" that may shape it.
How do body and mind (counter-)act in different positions, or - symbolically - in different situations?
What happens, inviting body and mind to step out of habitual patterns of posture and movement?
What does each body need to work on - personally - in each position or transition?
What qualities can it embody?
What 'narratives' - as beliefs, as stories we tell ourselves about ourselves - can act as constraints, and what can free our movement and expression?

The practice of yoga itself is approached as a narrative, unfolding on the mat with the body as the protagonist, inviting it on 'adventures' - like those of the hero of a story - in order to explore a deeper connection with ourselves...

The type of practice is slow hatha flow, meaning movement in flow, of moderate to gentle intensity, and focuses more on self-care through movement, rather than advanced postures, or physical goals.

It is aimed at people who may be struggling in their relationship with their body and wish to get in touch with it, regardless of their experience or physical abilities.
