Nidra = sleep. A relaxation technique on a physical, mental and psychological level. It is an intermediate state of mind between wakefulness and dreaming, due to the awareness that is directed at the boundaries of conscious - subconscious. The practice works therapeutically on all levels of existence. It is considered a more effective way of physical, mental and psychological rest and renewal than traditional sleep. Lying in savasana, the whole body is transported into a state of deep calm and relaxation. Anxiety and stress are reduced, as the mind enters Alpha and Theta waves, while at the same time maintaining its consciousness, unlike deep sleep.
