What does our activated body teach us about how we can move in everyday life?

What is the kinetic practice "Basic Connections"?

In the kinetic practice "Basic Connections" we practice movement without unnecessary tension, cultivating in the body the choice for calm readiness.

We begin with guided, gentle, exploratory movement to gradually warm up and activate the physical body, creativity and mindful presence.

We continue with conditions of continuous movement and improvisational dance, both autonomously and in interaction, giving space, time and support for the activated body to develop its expressivity and kinesthetic abilities.

In closing we explore the importance of pause and rest and find ways of transitioning from the context of group practice to the everyday life of each of us.

Why engage with movement as a practice?
Movement practice can enhance our natural abilities to balance the nervous system and develop new movement possibilities, both in a dance hall and in everyday life.

By strengthening our connection to our senses, perceptual abilities, curiosity and creative powers, we can more directly and easily access our embodied intelligence. We expand our availability for joy and pleasure, and for all that we as a body know, need, want and can do.

Does this approach apply to me?

The approach of the kinetic practice "Basic Connections" belongs to the field of mindfulness, embodied and somatic movement practices and is based on the principles of Open Floor, Skinner Releasing Technique and Embodiment Coaching.

It is aimed at people who are willing to question how they can, how they should be able to or how they should move, and want to
Cultivate active and empathic presence, vitality, economy, confidence and enjoyment as daily possible choices in the body

  •  relax unnecessary tension and stress

  •  feel more comfortable as the unique body they are

  •  experience greater ease in relationships and boundaries with other bodies

  •  deepen experientially into practices of self-regulation, personal empowerment, expression and human connection through movement
